Who did you draw?
Masters week is finally here and so is the draw for players. Stop in this weekend and do one of two things.
1. Find out who your player is in the 4 round draw for the week, Here`s who have drawn some of the favourites: Bubba - Steve Golding, Rose - Joe Knight, Scott - Clive Petitt, Mickelson - Mike Sheppard, McIlroy - Barry Piddington, Woods - Kev Alderman, Spieth - Paul North, Day - Tony Allen
2. Enter our Masters 36 hole draw! What`s this? Well it`s for the players who made the cut for the last two days play at Augusta. A chance to perhaps pick a winner instead of a duffer the first time around or maybe add to your stable with another chance to win. The only difference is you pick an envelope with a number inside which equates to the player's position on the tee for the third round. Simple!
£5 per ticket, seven different prizes and a short field so don`t miss the chance. If some players are still available Sunday the number drawn applies to the players position at the start of the third round.
So who do you think will win? The "experts" believe it could be one of the best events ever with so many players in with a chance and many showing a bit of form at just the right time. Not many are talking up Tiger, but how can he be ignored? Four time winner, with room to wail away on the driver, as long as he has lost the chilli dips (probably had a bit of advice from Hookers by now), he has to have a chance? Of course we want a homer to win, Rory, Justin, Jamie or Paul. The course looks amazing and a bombers delight which doesn`t really narrow it down by too many any more.
Enjoy the event, it looks like it will be a ripper.

Good luck to John Charlick and his Leslie Wood team!
Ash Mahmood, Alfie Buttle, Rob Percival, Jason Mynett, Jeremy Redgewell, Matt Ellis, Aaron McGregor, Neil McGregor, Michael Lilley and Davis King. A good blend of youth and experience. They have an awkward 1st round tie at The Warren this Sunday. This is always the hardest team to select and John's team has been no different. If you can make it over in the afternoon to support or caddie, the players would be really grateful.
I say in the afternoon as it's the Scrutton Cup this weekend which you may be playing in and the also the Lombard pre-qualifier for a chance to have a few days at the 5 star resort, Gleneagles at the beginning of September on the Ryder Cup Centenary course. Well worth the £2.50 entry on the day so I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning for this special event. A reminder the course is closed on Saturday due to the Keating Trophy pre-qualifying. This is 36 holes to qualify for the County matchplay event next weekend. We have numerous members playing, so good luck to all of them. If you get inspired to watch the best amateurs in Essex here`s your chance.
Last orders on the balls please…
Next Sunday ends the chance to get on the back of the ball personalisation. I need to place the final orders by Monday 19th at midday so please, if you want some, get that order across to me. Last year five people missed the chance of the FREE balls, try not to be one of them.
Enjoy your golf this weekend, it really feels like our season is now well and truly under way.
