Golf On Tour It's the WGC matchplay event this week with the group matches already underway. A couple of group of deaths to watch out for and anyone could get through. But the big news of the week is that Rory McIlroy has made that change he was talking about and brought onboard Master coach himself, Pete Cowen. Rory will still see long time coach Michael Bannon, but Cowen travels with the Tour and is much easier access each week if needed and that is definitely the word for Rory at the moment, NEEDED. The quest to "keep up with the DeChambeaus" has messed with both his swing and head and now realises it truly has affected his game. It wouldn't surprise me if Pete doesn't sort his wedge game out first. A fabulous player like McIlroy can`t keep continuing to be so wayward with his scoring clubs and expect to compete. Pete is a straight-talking Yorkshireman who will tell Rory exactly what he needs, not what Rory wants to hear. I`m excited for him and hope this is the answer to the solution because an in-form Rory will only add to the excitement at Augusta in a few weeks. What a decision that would be if he was wearing the green jacket come Sunday April 11th.
In The Rugby I hope your weekend was better than mine with regard to who you like to support. Both my teams in red lost out. One an absolute thriller and the other, it couldn't have been more the opposite. Wales just 33 seconds away from the Grand Slam, yet penalties cost them dearly along with two yellow cards in the last 15 minutes (that actually could have been 3)created chances for the French, with their amazing Galic flair to steal the match with the last play of the game. End to end from the opening whistle, if it could happen on a rugby pitch it did. Great tries, most of the important refereeing decisions decided correctly, red card, yellow cards a will to win from both sides couldn't have failed to entertain anyone watching, it was just so sad no one was in the stadium to witness one of the greatest 6 Nations games ever. I`ve had it on good authority that the whole of Wales was in mourning Sunday. Being so close it's hard to say, but well done France.
England just don't seem to be able to play as a team. Losing again to Ireland, last years Champions and World Cup finalists must be wondering what to do next.5th out of 6 teams isn't good enough for this team but the results don`t lie. I think "Uncle Eddie" has plenty of work to do if they are going to climb to the top of the European mountain anytime soon. Have a great weekend everyone. Leave the odd jobs alone and do not sharpen any knives for the next 48 hours. We do not want any last minute injuries! |
