We hope you're well. Two dates for your diary: 29th March and 12th April! It was great to hear the news that - amongst other things - playing golf has been given the green light from the 29th of March, just in time for the four-day Easter weekend! Not only this, but non-essential retail can open its doors just a couple of weeks later on the 12th of April. Hooray! We can't wait to welcome you back to Orsett and will have more news for you in the coming weeks. Until then, we are still here if there's anything golf-related you'd like to discuss or purchase - there's no reason to go anywhere else. We really do appreciate your support! Enjoy the read. |
We Have A Date I was beginning to wonder if Mr Johnson was ever going to give us the great news of getting the show back on the road to some normality before summer started! It was hard to believe the excitement in our house after the announcement and that was from my wife! And I thought she enjoyed having me at home a little more? I suppose it's that Mars and Venus thing again where women say one thing but men hear it as something completely different! Before I get into any further hot water, let's just look forward to playing golf again next month, which is now something Tiger Woods won't be getting to do after his well-documented car accident in California earlier this week. He has injuries that may well have called time on the Greatest player of his era. I`m sure he will try to play again on Tour but 5 back surgeries, multiple knee surgeries and now fractures of his leg and ankle pinning don`t sound easy to make that climb up to the "mountain top" once again. It just goes to show how fragile things can be to us all at any given moment and we shouldn`t take anything for granted. My store is beginning to morph into its Spring/ Summer styling, still wrapped in social distancing tape but new products have started to arrive. Here are some of the latest Custom Fitting products from Callaway and TaylorMade for you to view. I hope you like them as much as I do. Great looking clubs with equally good performance built-in.

That only leaves you to choose something and then keep it on " the track" and not end up like this player (i use that term loosely) |
Fastest Finger First With tee times imminent and the "fastest finger first" for March 29th kicks in, it might be a good time to consider a "spring clean" of your golf game instead. Making sure that your basics are in place as Jack Nicklaus did every season before he attempted to compete could be a wise thing to do and help get the rust off as well as direct your thoughts in the required areas of your game both good and not so. It takes no time for bad habits to set in and spoil your golf. Thanks to those who have already made contact. I can`t wait to get back to coaching! Now is the time to consider having those regrips sorted out that were put off last season.I'll have them ready in time for play in March, all I need for you to do is decide what grips and how many. And to help you make that decision here's a tempter. Have 13 clubs regripped BUT ONLY pay for 11! (Putters are not included in this offer)Take a look at your grips. If they have been on their longer than 18 months, it`s time to replace them. Click here and get in touch The green staff have been putting the dry weather to good use. Perry and the team have started the deep corring and overseeding this week, all in readiness for golf to return. As you can see it's been going very well. They have also been testing the watering system(crazy thought I know) but this is a behind the scenes jobs that keep us ahead of problems

The World Of Sport For those who attempted the World No 1 list, well done. For those who thought it would be easier to leave well alone, here are the answers. Bernhard Langer, Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Fred Couples, Nick Price, Tom Lehman, Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, David Duval, Vijay Singh, Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm. An extremely talented group of players who all got there with amazing talent and something unique to each of them.A glaring omission from the list?Phil Mickelson's name. Lefty never quite made it amazingly. A big Rugby weekend ahead. Arguably Wales biggest match of the year against England in Cardiff. Would be incredible if we won but I think my head is ruling my heart this time.
