From the photo, the first tee faired pretty well on the first day. No major demolition or rebuild was necessary. The breeze direction meant no first tee shot was witnessed making it "down the drive" all day. Unheard of... Thank you to you the members who have been so generous with their support and concerns for both mine and my family's wellbeing. It`s great to be back around the banter on the first tee when I`ve been starting play off. A special mention to Roger Burder for sending some extra special WhatsApp messages. My family in Wales have enjoyed them too! At the time of writing Northern Ireland have decided to soften their lockdown laws and allow 6 people from different families to socially gather. As we know England hasn`t yet allowed this many so far but it will come just be patient. With the return of the warm weather and a slight shortage of volunteers, the tee bookings have been taken in store along with buggy bookings and payments. Some members found it a little confusing so it's been modified. Please now come directly to the pro shop door nearest to the course to check in. And can I just remind everyone that we are NOT currently able to retail as normal. I am only able to provide services in response to online, via my website enquiries line at www.david-wood.co.uk, email david.wood@foremostgolf.com or phone calls.
Club fittings & Lessons I hope to re-start lessons and club fittings from June 1st. I've had numerous enquires for both and I will look after all our customers as normal as soon as I am back up and running in this area. Click here to send me a lesson or club fitting request.
The "big game" at Seminole, it was strange to see the best players carrying their own bags and playing casually in shorts around one of Florida's finest courses. Not that the money was any way casual. The foundations were benefitting from huge numbers of dollars won by each team, for skins, birdies, even long drives and with 1.1 million won on the 19th hole by Rory from a single wedge shoot out challenge, it was just enjoyable to watch live sport, even if it was a little staged. June promises more live golf on The PGA Tour with no fans in situ. This could be the only way forward for sporting events for a while. Football is also back with the German Bundesliga up and running in empty stadiums. Typical the Germans were organised enough to try this first! On the other hand, nations such as Scotland, their football authorities have decided to have no further matches to complete the season. Celtic were named Premier Champions again, English teams are back at their training grounds, so will the Premier League get the go ahead anytime soon? What do you think? In the end, sport IS just stuff. Let's hope all the "numbers" keep improving around the world, making it a safer place to be. Regards, David |
