We hope our weekly emails are providing you with a little bit of normality in these difficult times. We’re well into spring now and it’s been great watching the flowers bloom whilst being in lockdown, partly thanks to the beautiful weather we’ve enjoyed over the past few weeks. Golf courses across the country will certainly be taking full advantage after a tough and wet few months prior. Heres to a happier and safe month of May. This week at Orsett Perry has had some rainfall at last (would we ever wish for that after the winter), which will encourage some faster growth and stronger grasses. Getting the balance right must be harder than hitting a booming driver down a tree-lined fairway as wide as the teeing ground. Stay safe and enjoy the read. David.
Another week passes and I hope you are taking on some of the challenges set in the newsletter.? I have been in contact with some of you via video links or the old fashioned way, telephone.it`s been great to catch up and I look forward to more of it. Keeping ourselves amused is the clue to staying sane. I`ve resolved to relearn some French, just in case I need to explain to the Gendarme, the need to be out at 3 in the morning searching for some of the Tour party next year. Those who were there last year will know what I`m talking about! As the challenge to find toilet rolls seems to be over, the little members of my family have challenged me to a keepie uppie competition once we get back together, so a bit of practice is going ahead, they forget I was their age once and still very competitive....Have you been getting back to doing something from way back when? With the small possibility via the rumour machine and the prayer mat, playing golf could be one of the first participant sports to be back on the agenda, I wanted to inform you all of some of the intentions we will be putting in place to look after both your health and my staffs when we get open. On the proviso we can open, we will only be accepting two members in the shop at any one time. We will create a safe route to follow around the shop to reach anything required. All purchases made will need to be via a credit/debit card OR money from your shop account. So please be prepared. Make sure you have some money in your account and purchases can be deducted without any worry, it`s so much safer for all of us. Should you wish to purchase something that isn`t for immediate use, we can organise a time pre or post round for collection. And big thank you to all those who have already taken the time and benefitted from the extra 10% bonus top up. Try not to lose sight that if and when we first open it is only another exercise option and not full out golf as we are used to and the need for some patience to get used to the process, it is going to be sort of exciting to play again none the less, don`t you think?.
