Try Carrying Your Clubs With the amount of rain recently fallen, why not consider just carrying your clubs for a couple of months. “No way, they are far too heavy” I hear you say, why not just take 7 or 8 clubs in a carry bag of which we have numerous if you don`t own one. It will keep you moving around the course easier. This is the time of year, greenkeepers want to move players as far from the playing surfaces as possible, which means the distance around the course is greater. It can build a little extra strength and of course reduce the options of club choice, encouraging you to "play" more shots. Throughout the winter months, there might be some satisfaction to playing to your handicap (or less) with half a set. Case in point was the recent Chawner Cup here at Orsett, the five club challenge, 11 people scored par or better, with Graham Dunn scoring a nett 69 to win! Next time you plan to go out take a few less clubs, use a carry bag and score like Graham.
