Sport report… The football season has started with the usual suspects getting off to a flying start. Both Man City and Liverpool continued where they left off, with the new boys having mixed results. Norwich lost to Liverpool, Aston Villa started brightly only to lose at "The Lane" against a strong Spurs and Sheffield United earning a draw with Bournemouth. It`s a long season ahead so let`s see how it all looks at Christmas.Who are going to challenge the big two? And which Club will sack their manager first? Opinions here please. Just as important, The Rugby World Cup is only 6 weeks away! Two of the big three sides contrived to lose. New Zealand lost to Australia, Wales lost to England in a "friendly" (are they ever friendly's? but South Africa who are getting better each match battered Argentina and are again an organised force to be reckoned with. Should England keep everyone fit then they will go close. Wales have just lost a pivotal player in Gareth Ainscombe at outside half through injury. With it now being a power game, England have it in abundance. It will be a brilliant tournament, as many as 6 or 7 teams with a realistic chance of getting to the final, personally I’m really looking forward to all the matches already. With the Fed-Ex Cup on as well, it`s a sport fest! Patrick Reed got back to winning ways and Rory managed another top 10 finish, bemoaning his ability to compile four rounds. Jon Rahm looked good until that Spanish temperament took over, and it was nice to see Adam Scott put a good showing in. What about the great man, Mr Tiger Woods? A withdrawal from last week’s event with a stiff back. Is Tiger coming to the end of his amazing career? He has played just 4 times since Augusta, how can he stay sharp against the quality of the fields these days? It`s all about getting to East Lake for The Tour Championship final, Tiger himself lost 10 places and is now outside the Tours top 30. This week is the last week to get in the big 30. Each shot will be very valuable and for some, squeaky bum time! Incredible to think the US Tour season is over in two weeks and it will still be August. It`s amazing the power of TV and its audiences.
