What can you say about Tiger Woods? Four swing changes, umpteen major surgeries and enough personal issues to put you in a strait jacket! And yet he still never ceases to amaze everyone.
Can he win again? It looks very possible. A Major win? I think he might.
His swing looked to be as good as ever, possibly technically better at times than at his best years. He will of course be a threat now at Augusta, with his knowledge of the course, skill around the greens and hard as nails attitude when coming down the stretch. And of course amazing things happen to special people it seems just at the right time.
I say it every year, but this could be THE best ever Masters. So many players are looking to add the green jacket to their CVs, it`s not too many weeks away. Perhaps Rory and Jordan can be inspired by Magnolia Drive when they arrive because they are the two big names who are still playing catch up. If they do, what a spectacle it will be.
Meanwhile, great news for British golf with Paul Casey finally getting back on top of the podium. Casey has been playing some excellent golf for a while and to shoot 65 around the tough Copperhead course to win will boost his confidence considerably. He too is another with the game for Augusta, a high ball flight with good distance control, just what is needed to make putting as easy as possible. His recent record around Augusta is better than most, so perhaps a possible each way bet would be worth a few pound. His Ryder Cup place should all be sewn up after the win making Europe a far better team with than without him.
