The golf world is heating up Big hitting Jon Rahm the Spanish sensation won a 4 hole playoff at the weekend to move up to a mind boggling World No 2 .The rise and rise of Rahm has been almost Tigeresque even though he has just two wins to his name on the PGA Tour. With just DJ in front of him, could he scale the heights and be World No 1 before the Masters in April? He is now in front of Speith, Thomas and a healthy looking Rory Mcilroy who announced his return in fine style in Abu Dhabi last week. Another who is seriously "Career building" is Tommy Fleetwood, Europe’s current No 1 player. In the desert last week alongside Rory and invitee Dustin Johnson, Fleetwood looked very much at home in the company and showed both his illustrious company and his undoubted talents are here to stay. A very comfortable 66,65 (13 under) at the weekend gave the Liverpool man another victory, sneaking past another form player in Ross Fisher who not that long ago slipped off the radar but is now thankfully back and must be due a win anytime soon. Rory played some fabulous golf and should he start holing a few more putts, some may even say he is back to his best and will undoubtedly want to get back to the top of the pile a soon as possible. This week though marks the return of the great Tiger Woods to the PGA Tour. He plays at Torrey Pines, the scene of 8 of his wins and where he last won a major championship back in 2008! The golf scene is certainly starting to hot up with the stars of the game, hardly what we are all experiencing at the moment with so many courses closed and even Orsett, a little"soft" in places underfoot. If, when playing socially, it is possible to leave a few clubs out or even carry please do so. January golf should be about making changes and improvements to your game for the up and coming season, playing with fewer clubs can help this in so many ways and of course the wear and tear on the course is dispersed considerably more for Perry and the team to deal with.
