Ladies Fashion show building momentum
Next Monday 2nd November, 7pm, is our Ladies Fashion evening curtesy of Callaway and since announcing it last week interest has certainly snowballed.
All ladies members or non-members are most welcome to attend, I'm sure you do not want to miss this. It will be a chance to get the earliest reveal of Callaway Spring/summer apparel before it's even been touched the shelves anywhere in the World.
What a great opportunity to see a quality collection in relaxed surroundings, with likeminded ladies, (always the best way, according to my wife!) So get in touch and confirm your attendance.
Lady Captain, Sue and I are looking forward to welcoming you all to Orsett.
So remember the date November 2nd at 7pm.
Further improvements on the course.
The difficult par 3, 15th hole has had a facelift in recent weeks. Head Green keeper, Perry and his staff have been transforming the tired look of the bunkers and made it an even tougher challenge than before. All the bunkers have been reshaped, riveted and even added to, to create an even stiffer finish to an already challenging last four holes anywhere in the south of England.
The work took 6 weeks to complete and with the "right" weather it only needs a final bit of edging to the top turfs once they "bed in" and sand to be added and the hole will be fully back in play.
It's amazing how a bit of earth moving and tinkering can change the look of the hole. Where previously there were 2 bunkers greenside left and 3 greenside right, there are now 1 and 2 but with a devilish trap short left, for the miss hit some 40 yards before the green. Many will have to change their strategy on the hole and consider using their "shot" wisely in future play.
Following on with that, the first championship tee is being rebuilt to set the scene of the challenge ahead. As you can see work has just begun but I`ll keep you up to date with what`s happening.
Another excellent piece of course development that can only enhance the course`s reputation even further!

Is the Bridge about to collapse? What's going on in West London? Has Jose lost the plot or has his team just run its course? Chelsea are a shell of last season. Similar playing staff, yet unbelievably terrible results so far. Is Roman considering his next move? Or is it Jose trying to construct his? Perhaps he is looking at the Villa job? Now that would be a challenge!
Was Sherwood really the man for that job in first place? Or do some of these modern owners need to be more patient? Being a manager in the Premier league is probably tougher than at any time, awash with money but not time. Apart from Wenger no manager has been at a Club for more than 3 seasons and some Arsenal fans want rid of him? Ok, money talks (more than Jose) but at the moment football has become a crazy commercial business, whats happened to it being a sport?
Meanwhile, The Rugby World Cup is coming to an end with powerhouses New Zealand and Australia facing off in the final this weekend. Following two excellent but completely different semi-finals the best two teams have made it through. Both have reached four finals and no side has yet retained the trophy. Can the Green and Gold hold back the Black tide? Whoever wins it will be a ripper of a game, with many little mini battles within the game, McCaw v Pocock, Carter and Foley, but the front rows could well hold the answer to the Webb Ellis trophy "The Convicts" have been a scrummaging revelation in this tournament and could have the edge in there.
Recently I spoke about how Australia were in turmoil and now look at them on the verge of greatness, only "the black machine" to beat. Organisation and trust in the Coach has got them there, football could learn a lot from that.
Not only football. How about your own game?
If you assess your season what would you consider changing to produce some better results? Why not come and speak to me about your game and let me help you get more out of it?
Consider a playing lesson as much as a structured technical lesson. Watching someone playing allows the Coach to see what happens in real time. Not only your physical swing but how your approach and the situation can affect the actual shot you intend to hit. Get in touch the usual ways. It's a perfect time to reflect and follow up with some plans to make change to hit the ground running next season.
