"Thanks for the support"…
Past Lady Captain, Margaret Oliver and new Lady Captain, Ali Battle are pictured with the fantastic donation to Margaret`s chosen Charity for 2014, Breast Reconstruction Awareness at Broomfield Hospital. An outstanding amount of £4,570 was handed over last week to the Hospital. The money raised came from her Charity Day, Ladies Open day, Guest day, raffles and the Charity bunker on the course.
Margaret was so pleased, "I am ever grateful to everyone who contributed both time and money to create such a brilliant amount. The staff work so hard to make ends meet and every little helps, the ladies were so thrilled to be lucky to get so much in one go!"
A fabulous effort Margaret, congratulations to you and a great way to end out your Captaincy!

Have to mention Phillip Hughes, the Australian cricketer, who sadly passed away last week after a freak accident, being hit just below the helmet whilst playing a bouncer. It just goes to show even with all the learned skills and protection it will take something like this to improve the latter. Any true sports person will be saddened by his passing.
Wales finally buried the Southern hemisphere hoodoo and beat the second ranked team South Africa last weekend, well done boys a brutal, physical game with the right result. England also won beating Australia in another bruising encounter with players putting their bodies on the line. The World Cup is only 6 months away and the group of hell with England, Australia and Wales playing each other is definitely the group to watch. The Six Nations will tell the Coaches a lot about their squad. First match up…Wales V England in Cardiff, couldn`t be better.
Finally contestants are leaving the jungle. After 2 weeks of toing and froing from one camp to another, the Celebs are 'getting out of there. The Celebs have been getting on far too well and even apologising if there is a bit of friction at times. Apart from Kendra's verbal display at Edwina Currie last week it`s all a bit too tame. She picked on an ex politician, thick skinned and wouldn`t care anyway as long as she got her point across. Let's hope for a little more unrest from now on to add to those nasty little Bushtucker trials.
