Meach reaches new level….
Orsett member Colin Meach recently had a lesson with me. Colin, like some golfers, can be sceptical even scared maybe embarrassed that the Golf Professional will rip their games apart and bring them to “tears”. Of course not everyone “clicks” with the information handed out but in this, case far from it. A big push slice was soon eradicated and drives were heading in the intended direction. So it worked on the practice ground, but how about on the course first time out? Well after 5 holes, the 18 handicapper was 1 under par gross, after 9 holes he was level par gross. By the end of the round, the pace had dropped but a score way in excess of his handicap was achieved. Colin was so pleased; no lost balls, no “blobs” and nearly every fairway hit! As you can see from this snapshot he`s very pleased with his results.
If this is something you have been thinking about doing for a while, let Colin’s lesson inspire you to come along and get some advice. Why would you want to continue doing something you enjoy but constantly ending the day frustrated, irritated or just simply disappointed?
Get in touch the usual ways via my website by clicking here, email or phone line and let’s get your game turned around like Colin’s.

Orsett well represented…
In the recent County over 70’s event held at Burnham on Crouch (surprised anyone can find it) we had two members on the podium. In atrocious weather Cliff Keeble and Mike Dovey finished tied 2nd with 31points, Cliff coming second on countback. Well done the survivors by all accounts!
Shufflers do it again…
Ronnie Morrison’s SAS shufflers snuck into Romford in their annual 6 a side match. Having won at home earlier in the year the SAS lived up to their name and increased the overall total to 5-1 in matches.
This leg according to Ron; “went according to plan with a 4-2 win. The boys dug in and left exposed our opponent’s weaknesses on their own field. I was thinking of calling Paul McGinley to see if he needed any more Vice Captains on his side to help out or maybe come to Orsett for a bit of a practice match before the Ryder Cup!
We have got a good spirit going (a Jamieson`s was the last one drunk) and the team get on well too!"
Well done the Shufflers. Next match is in May and I wouldn`t bet on Ron`s side not staying on the roll.
Lady Captains Charity Day…
Another date for the diary, Lady Captain’s day October 7th. In aid of Breast Cancer awareness, teams of 4 required, all for just £140 a team. It`s for a good cause, teams can be made up of any combination, team prizes, nearest the flags, buffet afterwards, great value on an outstanding Essex course, what more could you want? Interested? Please contact me the usual way and we will forward the necessary paperwork for entering.
Thanks for all the texts on the recent Manchester United performances. LVG seems to have them right where he wants the team at the moment… rock bottom. Things can only get better there! Oh and £65million on one player, is that the answer?
It’s the last week to get your entries in for our football league championship. All you have to do is pick the winners of all the English, Scottish and some European events to take part. If you would like an entry form pop in and pick one up from the shop. It is a bit of fun for a fiver.
