Spots are going for the July 4th Demo day. From 3 -7 pm we will be holding our annual PING demo day giving you chance to get fitted for your next PING product. We only have 4 spots left, so snooze you lose.
The US Open starts this week and as ever I`ve been asked my opinion on who might win. I usually put the "book" on players or teams. My picks usually crash out so those on Dustin Johnson this week, sorry but it`s time for DJ to do the business. He can win around brutal Oakmont with its famous coffin bunkers on the last. 2007 was the last time round there when Angel Cabrera won one of his 2 majors.
If you look past the usual Big Three, DJ stands out in the betting as does Sergio and Matt Kuchar, both due a Major win. Can Sergio's putter last for 4 days and will Kuchar get that required luck everyone needs at times? Complete outsiders - JB Holmes and Jimmy Walker.
Tiger has withdrawn from the event, feeling his body isn`t up to the rigors of playing yet. This must surely raise the same questions about him and his game? Let's hope he plays at Troon, he needs to get back playing. We all want to see him competing again don`t we?
Bound to be great viewing whatever happens …
Father's day this weekend, if you are looking for a perfect present for Dad or Grandad? Why not pop in and pick up something useful. From a sleeve of balls to a new pair of shoes we have all that is golf!
Hyperflex shoes even better value…
While stocks last anyone who purchases a pair of FootJoy HyperFlex will now receive a FREE FJ webbing belt with that order, so what are you waiting for?
Orsett bow out in thriller…
Orsett's Leslie Wood team lost in a dramatic last hole, last putt thriller away at Forrester's Park last weekend. The team got beaten 8-7 with the final match going to the very end. Club Vice Captain Andy Lee commented" a great game, 3-2 down at lunch no one deserved to lose really. Can`t remember ever being that nervous around the last green since my wedding day. Shame we didn't quite get over the finish line but a great squad effort.
Well done to all the players and especially Steve Rosendale for guidance and support throughout all the trials and matches".
Thornton Cup team play this weekend on Sunday at the Rayleigh Club, support is very welcome.
