Leicester Fiesta.....
With the loss of Bowie, Prince and Lemmy in the music industry and of course the recent celebrity passing's of Victoria Wood and Ronnie Corbett, sport got their unbelievable news story this week.
Without the need for millions of pounds spent on their team to win the Premier league, Leicester City defied all odds, of 5000/1, and proved all the pundits wrong that Claudio Ranieri was the right man for the job and no they would not get relegated this season! It has created an unbelievable bit of football history, probably among the greatest three results in British football history? Of course Man Utd winning the Premier league with "kids" comes to mind and unfancied Nottingham Forest winning back to back European Cups might be up there too? Most experts were just waiting for them to collapse all season and they waited and waited...., for the players and manager...true Leicester legends forever. Enjoy the party Foxes fans you deserve it. Champion's league next season might just be a whole lot different.
Just heard the news from the Spurs boardroom regarding saving a few pounds on the new Tottenham stadium, they have gone for a rethink on the size of the trophy cabinet.
Ladies Have A Tension Filled Match Themselves
The Ladies Harris bowl team couldn't have won in greater drama .Five games played in the opening match against Warley Park, Two finished on the 18th and three went to extra holes. Team Captain Ali Battle was so pleased with her team.
"We dug in and used our self-belief, all the matches could have been flipped, on their head but the girls stuck to their task and came through a great match. I doubt if any match will be tougher this season. This should boost our confidence for our next match at Nazeing..."
Sophie Beats The Odds
Vice Captain, Andy Lee`s, Leslie Wood squad played a friendly against Romford last weekend. We were one short due to a late illness.Mark Wheeler's 13 year old daughter went to caddie and ended up playing a 10 handicap off scratch. Now Sophie is no slouch, she plays off 6. Her opponent thought it unfair for her to play off the reds, so she offered to play off the white tees. The result was no better….She won 6 and 4. Great playing Sophie, you did yourself and the Club proud.
Off To France...

I'm just glad I won't be in charge of the scoring! More news and lurid photos next week, I just hope Angus manages to get up in time to catch the coach.
