Course maintenance well and trulyworking…
Perry's annual course "drilling" has been takingplace this week. With ideal conditions coring ofthe greens and approaches has been goingperfectly. The reason for doing this is toreduce thatch, the nasty stuff near the top ofthe surface that gives the ground its "spongy, hold the water" feeling. To improve the subsoilby replacing it with new, clean product and ofcourse to get light and air down into the soilready for the overseeing once the temperaturesincrease for germination.
So it goes from a pretty decent playing surfaceto something that resembles a cheese graterfollowed by a mountain of dragged in sand.Follow this up with a couple of brushes and theywill putt better than ever.
